BOO
Black Domestic Shorthair
July 23, 1994 - November 30, 2007

Boo was part of a litter that came from a cat I took in. The mom was a beautiful jet black, slender cat that I thought for sure had to be an Oriental Shorthair. But, who she got involved with I can only imagine because the litter was filled with BIG cats. Boo was the only female in that litter, so I had to keep her. She was the sweetest, silliest cat I had.

We called Boo the rug monkey because she was always performing acrobatics, but instead of in the air, they were on the floor. She would scoot herself around on her back and sides by pushing off with her back feet and rolling around. It was so funny to watch. All the while, she was busy narrating all her tricks to you. Boo had always been a talker, being sure to let you know what’s going on…although she had the look about her that she didn’t have a clue either.

One of Boo’s quirks was that she would sing with her mom. If I got going and start belting out a tune, she’d come running and sing right along. Okay, so it sounded more like racket, but we still had fun! Her other quirks were not so fun, but part of who she was. When she was young and I was at work, some people I knew decided to ‘bowl’ with her and after two days at the ER vet’s, we didn’t know what the outcome would be. She had swelling in the brain and nearly died. Over time, it caught up with her and she started behavioral barbering, but there are no other apparent long-term issues for a long, long time. Boo was a great cat with a silly personality and we love her very much!
