The
Outhouse is better known as the Super Pet My First Home for Rats. The
dimensions are 24.5" x 12.5" x 14.5". This
cage is the ultimate multi-purpose dwelling. Because the shelf is removable,
this can be even be set up as a single level cage. Having this option
has allowed me to use this cage for all sorts of things including breeding,
separating babies, quarantine, surgery recovery, etc. The only thing I
feel it is necessary to mention is that this cage is NOT suitable for
adult rats to live in permanently. It is just way to small for that. When
I have it set up as you see in the picture, I have the dining station
on the shelf, and a hammock hung on the right side of the cage. On the
bottom, I have the bedroom and playroom. It seems to work very well for
all age rats. I have had rats as young as 3 weeks in here and the bar
spacing is fine for them. The pan is deep and I never have an issue with
litter being kicked out either. Overall, it was a great investment for
all the uses I get from it. I actually now have two of them! And, as it
is with all my cages, I am constantly rotating toys in this cage to keep
anyone living in it from getting bored.
