Cricket
was our first mouse and a rescue surely from the jaws of a snake when
he was just a fuzzy. He was the only agouti in a litter of white feeder
mice, and we convinced the store owner to let us prepay and take him home
as soon as he was big enough. He lived in the lap of luxury from that
day forward.
Cricket lived on his own for most of his life
because the companion we got for him wasn't too nice to him, but he
didn't
mind...it just meant more attention! Cricket was calm and affectionate,
but was the master of 'out' time and was known to disappear just as it
was time to go back to his cage. Cricket's life ended much to soon with
an unfortunate encounter with a rat. He will
always be what we compare any mouse to and he is missed!
