Lola was part of a gorgeous litter that was surrendered to me to find homes for. From the moment we saw her, we knew this one wasn’t going anywhere. She would stay with us, and it was her that was my inspiration for returning to the world of breeding. Marked rats have always been a passion of mine, but I was never able to pursue it for one reason or another. Lola gave me that opportunity. She was the tiniest rat I have ever seen, as were most of her siblings, and she was a ball of energy and an absolute clown. No rat had her trot, that's for sure! She was so spunky, and drove her cagemates crazy sometimes with her youthful antics, but they loved her anyways, and she ended up like the mothering figure when Angel passed on. One of her favorite things to do would be to sprawl out all over everyone else at naptime! And, in her older age, Lola became coined as the narcoleptic rat, since she would fall asleep in the bat of an eye in the strangest positions, and it took a miracle to wake her! LOL! She was a sweet and crazy girl and we will love her to bits and pieces forever! Lola also had her first and only litter here at COVE on September 18, 2005, and they were gorgeous just like their mom!
